Fire Damages Montecito Guest Home

A structure fire broke out around 10 a.m. in Montecito on the 2300 block of Bella Vista Road.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they found smoke coming from a 500 square foot guest house.

No one was in the house at the time of the fire, and firefighters were able to knock down the blaze within minutes of their arrival.

A firefighter with the Montecito Fire Protection District did suffer a sprained ankle while fighting the fire.

Damages are estimated at over $100,000.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
