SWAT Search Leads to Weapons, Drug Arrests in Simi Valley

Written by KEYT Producer

The Simi Valley Police Department has arrested three people in connection to several stolen items taken out of multiple vehicles, including high powered firearms and ammunition.

Bryan Jensen, 25, Anthony Raymond Smith, 28, and Robin Annette Ruiz, 48, were arrested Tuesday morning on the 1000 block of Pacific Avenue in Simi Valley.

In February, Simi police say several items were stolen out of a locked vehicle. The items included a semi-automatic handgun with three loaded, high-capacity magazines. Using various department resources, detectives were able to identify the suspects as Jensen, Smith and Ruiz.

Tuesday, the Police department's Detective Unit served a search warrant at Ruiz's home. The Department's SWAT was used as a precaution due to the size of the property, however no excessive force was necessary.

During the search, police recovered a shotgun, several hundred rounds of ammunition for the shotgun, and property taken in another vehicle burglary in Simi Valley.

Two smaller searches prior to Tuesday's netted three other firearms, high-capacity ammunition, a large amount of cash and Methamphetamine and a "truckload" of stolen property.

All three suspects are booked in the Ventura County Jail.
