Goleta Man Hears His Fate

A Goleta man has received a sentence of 15 years to life in prison for three sexual assaults on his 12 year old niece.
German Acosta committed the acts in July of 2008 during a one hour period.

He was convicted recently in a jury trial in Santa Barbara Superior Court.

Judge Brian Hill said because of the nature of the crimes, probation would be inappropriate. He called them "reprehensible."

Senior Deputy District Attorney Joyce Dudley said the court is providing long term counseling for the young victim and her family members.
