Oxnard Carjacking Suspect Arrested After Crash

Oxnard Police have arrested a man they say assaulted and carjacked a man Thursday night in downtown Oxnard.

The attack happened at 6:00 p.m. on the 1300 block of North "C" Street. Police say the suspect assaulted the victim, 60, with a unknown weapon and then stole his vehicle.

The vehicle, a silver 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, was located 2 hours later. Oxnard Police were notified by the California Highway Patrol that it had been involved in a rollover accident just north of Los Alamos in Santa Barbara County.

Santa Barbara County Firefighters found the suspect nearby, bleeding. He was transported to Marian Medical center where he was treated and arrested.
