Pot Cookie Sends Student To The Hospital

Christina Heller

Santa Ynez Valley, CA-- A high school student is under arrest after allegedly giving other students on campus marijuana-laced cookies.

According to the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department, a female student was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon, after eating the pot cookie. The student was evaluated and later released.

Investigators learned that 18-year-old Rodrigo Guzman gave the victim and several other students the marijuana-laced confections. Guzman was arrested and booked into Lompoc Jail on charges of furnishing marijuana to a minor.

The other students who allegedly ate the cookies, were suspended from class by school administrators.

At this time, detectives do not know where Guzman got the cookies.
