Campers Could See Fee Hikes At Ventura County Parks

Christina Heller

Ventura, CA-- Camping at the beach is one of the most affordable ways to enjoy it. However, a fee hike proposed in Ventura County, may change that.

Campers at Faria, Hobson and Rincon Parkway could see a $2 to $5 fee hikes, depending on the parking spots. Currently, at Faria Beach, campers pay $30-per-night, while RV owners pay $45.

Some people that spoke to KEY News said, if fees go up they might as well stay at a hotel.

County officials say the hikes are necessary, because the County parks are financially, limping along.

During Tuesday's Ventura County Supervisors meeting, a vote on the issue was postponed. They hope to take it up again in a week or two.
