Jesse "James" Hollywood Gets Life In Prison

Christina Heller

Santa Barbara, CA-- Superior Court Judge Brian Hill ordered Jesse James Hollywood to spend the rest of his life in prison, without the possibility of parole.

Hollywood was convicted last year for orchestrating the kidnap and murder of 15-year-old Nicholas Markowitz in August of 2000.

Markowitz, who's older brother allegedly owed Hollywood money from a drug debt, was kidnapped in the San Fernando Valley by Hollywood and friends. His body was found several days later near West Camino Cielo in Santa Barbara County foothills. He had been shot to death with a Tech 9 firearm.

Before Judge Hill handed down Hollywood's fate, he did deny a defense motion for a new trial. Hollywood's defense team filed the motion last month, alleging juror misconduct.

Four others also were convicted in the teen's killing, including the gunman who was sentenced to death.
