Ojai Bear Memo

Written by Christina Heller

Local Assemblyman Pedro Nava is asking for the public's help. He wants to hear what you think about the policies and actions taken by the Department of Fish and Game that lead to a bear being euthanized in Ojai last month. Officials killed the 350 pound bear after it climbed up a tree on Aliso Street.

Nava released a memo Tuesday after meeting with the Department of Fish and Game. He says the bear was put down because officials determined it was a threat to public safety. To give your input on the incident contact Ben Turner, Legislative Aide, in Nava's office at ben.turner@asm.ca.gov
