Students Rally To Save Sports And Exercise Program

Christina Heller

Goleta, CA-- Students at the UC Santa Barbara Exercise and Sports Studies program are pumping up the opposition to proposed cuts in their classes.

Hundreds showed up at a mid day rally to ask the University to save the programs that include nutrition, sports management, and sports psychology.

UCSB says, they are listening to the students and will meet to talk about solutions that might keep some of the programs alive even in tough financial times.

The ESS Program offers four minors and no majors.

Students and UCSB Administrators are scheduled to talk about ways to save classes, -- especially for the juniors who would lose their minors if the courses are cut out.
