Cops Honored For Rescuing Woman From Burning Home

Christina Heller

Lompoc, CA-- On Tuesday night, three of Lompoc's finest were awarded for rescuing an 82-year-old woman from her burning mobile home last October.

Officers David Lamar, Mark Powell and Agent Joe Stetz were recognized during Tuesday night's city council meeting.

Officer Lamar was first alerted by a pedestrian about the fire. He was able to help neighbors fight the fire with a garden hose. While Officer Lamar tried to put out the flames, Officer Powell and Agent Stetz arrived on scene. They were able to rush inside the house and carry the woman to safety.
