Afternoon Shooting In Oxnard Turns Deadly

Oxnard, CA-- A man in his mid-40's is dead after police found him lying in an alley on the 1400 block of South E Street Monday afternoon.

Police responded to the area around 2:30 p.m. on reports of gunfire and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was rushed to St. John's Hospital in Oxnard, where he later died after undergoing emergency surgery.

Just minutes later and a few blocks away, police responded to reports of another gunshot victim.

This time, a 36-year-old man from the Inland Empire had been shot in the hand near C Street and Wooley.

Investigators are trying to figure out if the two shootings are related.
