Counties Seeing Shortage Of Seasonal Flu Vaccine
Santa Barbara, CA-- There are new worries about the flu, and this time, it's the seasonal flu. Most medical providers are out of the vaccine.
Santa Barbara County Health Officials say the reason there's a short supply is because of all the concerns over the H1N1 virus. That's because makers of the seasonal flu shot are busy making the H1N1 vaccine. The good news is that there is still time to get vaccinated. Michele Mickiewicz with the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department says, because the seasonal flu peaks in late December and early January, so there is still time. County health officials say more seasonal flu vaccine will be available later this month or in early December. They expect small shipments of the H1N1 vaccine every couple of weeks. |
