Fallen Officer Remembered On The Central Coast

Santa Barbara, CA-- A large crowd gathered on Wednesday to honor a local CHP officer, killed in a motorcycle crash last week.

30-year-old Jarrod Martinez was just two days shy of his one year anniversary on the force. He died last Thursday in Los Olivos on his way home from a traffic court appearance.

His memorial service was held at the Santa Barbara Courthouse Sunken Gardens, officers from all over came to pay their respects.

Martinez grew up in Santa Barbara and went to San Marcos High School. He leaves behind a wife and a four year old daughter.
