Last Minute Voters Prompts Surge In SB Election Turnout
Santa Barbara, CA-- Last minute voters still have a chance to turn in their ballots. Specific polling locations, designated as ballot drop-off location will be open until 8 p.m. Tuesday night
Voters are deciding on a mayor, three city council members and several measures. Election officials say there is more interest in this election than the one held in 2007. The city clerk's office says ballots from the seven drop off locations that were open for voter convenience on Saturday. Plus, ballots that arrived on Monday created somewhat of a surge, in turnout. Ballots must be received by 8 p.m. Tuesday tonight, when the polls close, in order to be counted.
