H1N1 Vaccine Will Be Offered At Showgrounds Clinic
Santa Barbara, CA-- Santa Barbara County residents identified as high-risk by the CDC, can get the H1N1 injectable vaccine beginning Thursday afternoon.
Thursday is the first of five vaccination clinics the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department is holding to distribute the swine flu vaccine. The clinics will be held in Santa Maria, Lompoc, Carpinteria, Santa Ynez Valley and Santa Barbara. At each clinic health officials will administer the injectable form of the H1N1 vaccine, only to those at high-risk of contracting the virus. Those identified as high-risk by the Center for Disease Control include: pregnant women, all children 6-months through 4-years-old, parents of infants age zero to 6-months, hospital and healthcare works, and children, young adults with substantial medical conditions. The first vaccine clinic is being held Thursday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Earl Warren Showgrounds, located of Las Positas and Highway 101.
