Police Wrapping Up Investigation Into Olympian's Murder

Oxnard, CA-- A spokesman with the Oxnard Police Department confirmed with KEY News that the investigation into who killed Ventura County Olympic medalist Dave Laut may be coming to a close.

Laut was found shot to death in his backyard in late August. The case is expected to be handed over to the Ventura County District Attorney's office in a few weeks.

Once that happens investigators believe an arrest will be made.

Laut was the Athletic Director at Hueneme High School.

His wife, Jane, reported the shooting. She hired criminal lawyer, Ron Bamieh, in the days after the incident.
