Reports Of Gunman Puts Several Schools On Lockdown
Santa Barbara, CA-- Several elementary schools were placed on lockdown Thursday morning after authorities received a report of a man with a gun.
Sheriff deputies say they were notified that a man carrying a gun was seen near Vieja Valley Elementary School. Authorities notified school officials, who promptly placed the school on lock down as a precautionary measure. Hollister Elementary School in Goleta was also placed on lock down while deputies searched the surrounding area. During their investigation, deputies determined the man seen with a gun, was a resident carrying a licensed firearm from his car to inside his home. After determining he was not a threat to the public, authorities notified the school campuses and the lock downs were lifted shortly after 9:15 a.m. |
