Group Keeps An Eye On Company Responsible For Oil Spill
KEYT has learned more about the company responsible for a large oil spill in Ventura County this week. It turns out, the company has a history of leaking out contamination. More than 200 gallons of oil spilled into Tar Creek on Tuesday when a pipe ruptured at the Vintage Production facility in the Los Padres National Forest. Forest officials say the spill is a concern because of its proximity to the California Condors Sanctuary.
The State Office of Emergency Services recorded dozens of oil spills last year from the Vintage Production facility. Now, a local organization wants stronger oversight. KEY News reporter Regina Ruiz has more from this watchdog group. |
