Ventura County 4th Of July Preview

Ventura, CA-- It's going to be a red, white and 'boom' weekend despite the recession this year.

Santa Paula cancelled a fireworks show but there are still plenty to choose from.

The first Fireworks Extravaganza in Ventura County takes place Friday night at Moorpark's Arroyo Vista Park. The rest are being held around 9 p.m. Saturday night.

Camarillo:
The Camarillo High School Fireworks Spectacular will begin at 9 p.m.

Fillmore:
A Community fireworks show at Fillmore Middle School will be visible from almost anywhere in the city.

Moorpark:
On Friday, the annual July 3rd Fireworks Extravaganza is held at Arroyo Vista Park.

Ojai:
At Nordhoff High School stadium, fireworks will light up the sky at 9:15 p.m. Admission for the fireworks show is $10 for adults, $5 for children.

Oxnard:
At Channel Islands Harbor, the Fireworks By The Sea celebration is an all day event, running from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. And admission is free.

Simi Valley:
A community festival is held at Rancho Santa Susana Park, fireworks begin at 9:20 p.m.

Thousand Oaks:
The 2009 Fireworks Spectacular begins at 9 p.m. with viewing from the Oaks Mall.

Ventura:
The 34th Annual Push-em, Pull-em Parade will march from Cemetery Park along Main Street to Plaza Park starting at 10:30 a.m. There will also be the the 16th Annual Rotary Club of Ventura and Ventura College Foundation Independence Day Celebration at Ventura College Athletic Field.
