LocalFurloughs Behind Friday DMV Closures In July
Santa Barbara, CA-- Due to the Governor's declaration of a fiscal state of emergency, the California DMV will close down three Fridays during the month of July.
The closures are part of the furlough orders that will affect other offices and agencies across the state. The DMV closures are scheduled for July 10, 17 and 24. In February, the DMV was also forced to close their doors on Friday's because of similar furloughs in place. Over 200,000 state workers are being affected by Schwarzenegger's announcement on Wednesday of a third furlough day. Patrons of the DMV are being urged to scheduled appointments when utilizing the department's services. |
