Middle Aged Woman Killed In Alleged Gang Drive-By

Ventura, CA-- A Ventura woman is dead after a being shot during an alleged gang related drive-by shooting. This is the second time in a short period of time the home on the 1200 block of Mead Avenue was the target of gunfire.

Police say 46-year-old, Ida Medina was inside her home when shots rang out from a passing car. Several rounds entered her home, striking her and sending her to the hospital.

Medina was transported to Ventura County Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators say, Medina's nephew was shot while standing outside the home in December of last year.

Both incidents are believed to be gang related. Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or Det. Boon with the Ventura Police Department at 339-4479.
