Incentive Hopes To Promote Shopping Local

Ventura, CA-- There is a new incentive to shop locally for some Ventura County residents.

Ventura natives are launching a Ventura Values Card, that offers discounts to cardholders and free publicity online for businesses that sign on.

The founders say they got the idea when they saw stores closing in the downtown corridor. Creators say a percentage of the $25 "Ventura Values" Cards will benefit Food Share.

The Ventura Values Cards will be on sale at the Fourth of July Street Fair, they will also be available online.
