Carpinteria-Summerland Fire District Celebrates 75 Years

For 75 years firefighters in the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire District have answered countless emergency calls. Today they took the time out to celebrate.

The district held an all day event at Linden Field that included various competitions, and a display of classic fire engines, along with a brand new rig for their department that just arrived.

It was also time for residents and fire fighters to reflect on the early days of the department which started in 1934.

Chief Mike Mingee said the fire engine was purchased by the school district for the area firefighters.
