Investigators Say Faria Beach Couple Were Targeted In Seaside Slaying

Faria Beach, CA-- On Wednesday night residents, concerned citizens and officials with the Ventura County Sheriff's Department met to discuss the recent murders of Davina and Brock Husted.

Residents living in the tiny beachside enclave of Faria Beach and Solimar Beach expressed concern for their safety after someone broke into the home of the Husted's, brutally stabbing and killing them.

The late night murders happened last Wednesday around 10 p.m. A suspect was not taken into custody and remains on the loose. This fact has neighbors of the Husted very concerned.

Their concern prompted a community meeting at which sheriff officials told community members the killer targeted the Faria Beach couple and they do not believe it was a random act of violence.

However, neighborhood residents were warned to keep all their windows and doors locked while away and at night.
