Jury Selection Begins In Hollywood Murder Case
Santa Barbara, CA-- Jury selection began Monday morning in the murder case of Nicholas Markowitz, a 15-year-old West Hills boy, who was allegedly murdered at the request of Jesse "James" Hollywood.
Hollywood is charged with ordering the execution-style shooting of Markowitz in Santa Barbara's back country, back in August of 2000. Prosecutors say the crime stemmed from a $1200 drug debt allegedly owed by Markowitz's older brother. Four others were convicted in the killing that took place in hills above Santa Barbara. The trial for Hollywood is slated to begin next week on May 6th. If convicted, Hollywood could face the death penalty. |
