Neglected Horses Will Have New Digs Very Soon

Written by Christina Heller

Ojai, CA-- Ventura County's Humane Society will get a new horse barn very soon.

The non-profit has already raised the $47,000 needed to buy the portable, 20-stall barn. Which is expected to be completed by Friday afternoon.

Since October, the shelter has housed 37 severely neglected horses discovered on a Lockwood Valley Ranch.

More than a dozen of the rescued horses are pregnant and two foals have already been born.

The Humane Society says it will continue to rely on donations for the ongoing care of the horses.
