Firefighter Crews Pitch Tents To Get Some Rest
Many living in the fire's path say it is nothing short of "heroic" what the firefighters are doing to save homes, and battle this monster fire. The "Day Fire" is now the 8th largest fire in U.S. history, but these firefighters are finally making progress since the blaze broke out on Labor Day.
Crews have come from all over to lend a helping hand. The firefighters have set up "tent cities" to give them a place to rest, and eat. Between 12 hour shifts they try to get some rest and relaxation. Most are calling the Ventura County Fairgrounds next to Surfer's Point, home. KEY News Bureau Chief Tracy Lehr has more on these firefighters valiant efforts. |
