Santa Maria Mayor Pushes for Levee Funding

Santa Maria Mayor Larry Lavagnino is in Washington, D.C., working to secure funding for a $50 million local project.

At issue is the weakening levee where the Santa Maria River flows behind a highly populated area near Suey Rd.

Santa Barbara County has been trying to shore up the eroding levee wall for years, but much more is needed.
