Santa Barbara Clinics Celebrate 35 Years

Written by Mike Waller

Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics celebrated its 35th anniversary today.
The clinics provide medical and dental care to thousands of Santa Barbara low-income families.
Nearly 70% of the patients report their income below the federal poverty level and many do not qualify for Medi-Cal.
Dr. Neil Sullivan of the Westside Neighborhood Clinic says, 'Over the years we have really worked to become a full fledge family practice and to be able to be so busy at these times and survive economically is really a God-send.'
All of the services and programs available are possible because of community support and private donations.
The Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinic's main problem now is its facility's size.
The organization says it has outgrown its buildings and need the space now more than ever.
