Teen Arrested In Connection With Infant's Death

Santa Maria, CA-- A juvenile male is under arrest for allegedly killing a nine-month-old child.

The incident happened on the 900 block of W. Cox Lane. Santa Maria Police say, the baby boy had been violently shaken and intentionally dropped on the ground causing massive head trauma.

The boy was removed from life support Monday morning.

The 16-year-old suspect is the boyfriend of the 20-year-old mother.... but it's unknown if the child was his. He's described as a runaway out of Ventura County for the past two months.

He is now in custody at the Santa Maria Juvenile Hall.
