Rainstorm Sends Mud Down Mountain Drive
A flow of mud down a turnout in the Tea Fire burn zone shut down Mountain Drive Monday morning for about five hours.
The mud was about three feet deep. Heavy equipment was needed to clear the area. Some residents were unable to drive in or drive out for half the day. Emergency vehicles were also told to reroute their responses to avoid the road block. Resident Jeff Johnson said the mud came from two directions. The creek nearby however, flowed freely. Johnson regularly clears the brush there. No other problems in the tea fire zone were reported. Many residents have layered their property with sand bags since the days following the November 13th fire. Senior Reporter John Palminteri was in the muddy mess and has our report. |
