Sex Offender Sweep

Santa Barbara, CA-- A coordinated sweep of known sex offenders was the focus of a tandem search in Santa Barbara Friday morning.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputies teamed up with police officers going door-to-door to make sure offenders are in compliance.

Six teams combed the city, which is home to nearly 300-registered sex offenders.

Funds for the Sexual Registrant Compliance Sweep came from a $200,000 "Safe Grant" from the Office of Emergency Services.
