News Press Consolidates News Gathering Operations With Layoffs

Santa Barbara, CA-- Ampersand Publishing announced Wednesday afternoon that they are re-organizing and that means 17 positions have been eliminated.

The owners of the Santa Barbara News Press say they are reorganizing printing, production and sales departments and consolidating news operations.

The Valley Living and the Goleta Valley Voice will be incorporated into the Santa Barbara News Press.

Co-Publisher, Arthur von Wiezenberger, says the actions were economically necessary as the publisher responds to the ever-changing industry.
