Thieves Get Away With Expensive Artwork
San Luis Obispo, CA-- An original work of art valued at $20,000 was stolen early Thursday morning from a gallery in downtown San Luis Obispo.
Officers with the San Luis Obispo Police Department responded to a burglary alarm at the Just Looking Gallery on the 700 block of Higuera Street just before 4 a.m. According to police, the thieves broke a window to gain entry to the gallery. Once inside the burglars took a large acrylic painting titled, "Crouching Woman." The painting is an original by artist Patrick Nagel.
