Tea Fire Chipping Services

Starting next week, the city of Santa Barbara and the Montecito Fire Department will offer chipping services to residents living in areas burned by the Tea Fire.

The purpose of chipping services is to help homeowners remove burned vegetation.This will help those who want to rebuild, and help clear debris before the rainy season starts.

The city of Santa Barbara will be coming around during the next few weeks.

The Montecito Fire Department will go to homes this coming Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

They ask residents to leave only burned vegetation in a pile facing the street. Piles should be four by four feet.

Pine needles, rocks, and leaf litter will not be chipped.
