Holiday Food Donations Down, Organizations Asking For Your Help
Santa Barbara, CA-- Organizations like the Food Bank of Santa Barbara County are seeing a decrease in donations with unemployment rising and people foreclosing on their homes.
The UCSB fraternity Alpha Tao Omega went trick or canning earlier this year instead of asking for candy at Halloween. That's because the Food Bank is having trouble keeping their shelves stocked with food. They are experiencing up to a fifty percent increase in need. With their preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday, the food bank is also asking for frozen turkeys. If you would like to donate a turkey or any food to the Food Bank of Santa County you can call or visit the South County Warehouse at 4554 Hollister Ave. in Santa Barbara.
