Police Back on Beach Patrol Following Sunbather Death

Christine Truong

Oxnard police are back on beach patrol for the first time since the death of a sunbather.
But officers have stopped using the Chevy Tahoe that killed 49 year old tourist Cindy Conolly three weeks ago.
Officers are temporarily using police pick up trucks instead.
The victim's family hired high profile attorney Mark Hiepler to request new training, policies and vehicles by the Fourth of July.
The department is looking into getting quads to patrol the beach in the near future.
But the department needs to find a place by the beach to store them.
