Rescued Horses Need Your Help

Christina Heller

Ojai, CA--Dozens of starving horses rescued from a Lockwood Valley ranch this week are now being cared for at the Ventura County Humane Society in Ojai.

The horses are from the Bor family's Cochema Ranch where deputies arrested three members of the Bor family on animal cruelty charges.

The Humane Society is in desperate need of funding to cover feed, shelter and veterinarian supplies for the horses.  Jolene Hoffman, director of the shelter says it will take at least nine months before the horses are healthy enough for adoption.

The most critical horses that were rescued last week are being cared for at the Ventura County Animal Shelter in Camarillo.
