Famed "Melrose Place" Actress Arrested In Montecito

Well known actress Heather Locklear was arrested Saturday night after a concerned citizen called police.

Montecito, CA-- 47-year-old Heather Locklear was arrested Saturday night by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence. Witnesses say Locklear, appeared visibly impaired in a Montecito parking lot before getting into her car and driving away.

According to the CHP, a citizen observed Ms. Locklear driving back and forth over a pair of sunglasses and revving her engine before leaving the Montecito parking lot. After leaving the parking lot, the witness encountered Ms. Locklear's vehicle stopped in the roadway on East Valley Rd, near Live Oaks Road.

When officers arrived on scene they found Ms. Locklear to be disoriented and seated alone in the driver's seat of her vehicle. After an on scene DUI investigation, officer's determined Ms. Locklear to be under the influence of a controlled substance and placed her under arrest.

A CHP spokesman says, Locklear was not under the influence of alcohol. The 47-year-old is suspected of being under the influence of prescription medications. Officers booked the actress into Santa Barbara County Jail and then released her on $5,000 bail.

In June of this year, Locklear received treatment for anxiety and depression at a medical clinic.
