SLO Board of Supervisors Vote Against Plan to Transfer Land to SB County

Written by Mike Waller

The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday not to transfer 5000 acres of agricultural land to Santa Barbara County.

The County Administration opposed the transfer, which it said would have cost the county nearly $60-thousand dollars annually in taxes.

The Planning Commission voted against the plan earlier this month.

The owner of the property, H.D. Perrett said the transfer would have given him greater protection against agricultural theft.

Santa Barbara had already agreed to the transfer.
