Santa Barbara Aims To Curb Youth Violence

A new strategy to fight gang violence will involve agencies working together. But they won't be alone. Santa Barbara Police Chief Cam Sanchez, spoke to KEY News about moving beyond gang fighting grants. Sanchez says, he has invited former gang members to get involved. He also told us that schools, police, parents and sheriff's deputies will share information and work together. KEY News Reporter Tracy Lehr spoke to Chief Sanchez about why it will take more than arrests and laws to end the violence.
