A local mother is dealing with a tragic loss for the second time in as many years. The body of her daughter, 14 year old, Christina Veloz-Payne, was found Thursday in the bushes on the side of the 101 freeway in Goleta. She is the victim of an apparent hit and run as she tried to cross the freeway following a fireworks show on Monday night. A memorial fund has been set up to help out the family with funeral expenses. You can give a donation at any Bank Of America under the Christina Payne Memorial Fund, account # 1711166638.
