Santa Maria Police have discovered a woman dead, her throat slashed.
Her body was found on the 600 block of W. Park Avenue. Santa Maria Police say the woman's body was discovered in a home behind a main residence around 12:30 Thursday afternoon. Police have since been granted a search warrant for the home. They say a resident of the main house reported the woman missing after she hadn't been seen for awhile, but it's unknown how long the victim has been dead. No witnesses have come forward in the case.
