Body Found In Surf Near Avila
A 23 year old, Santa Maria man has been found dead in the waters of Pirates Cove in Avila bay. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, fell off a cliff Wednesday night around 6:30. San Luis Obispo County Sheriffs, along with an underwater search and recovery team located the body shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon. The body was found not far off from where the victim went into the water. The recovery team had to deal with some big swells at times, hampering their search. KEY News Reporter Mike Klan was on the beach when the discovery was made.
