LocalAccident Kills Highway Worker, Critically Injuries Two Others
One man is dead and several others are injured after a truck slammed into a Cal-Trans clean-up crew near Santa Paula. Authorities say a flat bed truck lost control and hit a Mercedes before careening into a group of furlough workers under Cal-Trans supervision. One of the workers died instantly at the scene. Another was airlifted and may have lost a leg. Emergency crews rushed three other workers and both drivers to area hospitals. To add to the trouble, a woman stuck in the traffic jam went into labor. She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. KEY News Ventura County Bureau Chief Tracy Lehr was on scene and has more on this devastating accident.
