UPDATE: The body of a teenage girl found near the 101 Freeway in Goleta has been identified as Christina Veloz-Payne. CHP has determined the teen was a victim of a hit and run accident while she tried to illegally cross the freeway. The accident is under investigation and CHP are asking anyone with information to call the Santa Barbara CHP.


Santa Barbara Sheriff's Department have confirmed that the body of female has been found in the area of Calle Real and Plumas Ave near Glen Annie Road. Authorities arrived on scene shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday morning after receiving a report of a body in the brush. Sheriff's have cordoned off a significant area of the neighborhood and are searching for any evidence or clues surrounding the body. The body is located in an area near the location missing 14 year old Christina Veloz-Payne was last seen.
