Target Appeals Alcohol Decision
Retail giant Target, is appealing the Ventura City Commission's decision blocking the company from selling beer and wine at its newly opened store at the Pacific View Mall. The planning commission rejected Target's application over concerns that the mall location, which draws in many teen shoppers is across the street from a middle school. Currently no other store in the mall sells packaged alcohol with the exception of beer and wine sold in restaurants like California Pizza Kitchen and Red Robin. The appeal will not likely be heard by the city council until sometime in October.
