Carbon Monoxide Kills Carpet Cleaners

Firefighters say carbon monoxide killed two cousins working in Moorpark on Saturday. Victor and Jose Cortez collapsed and died while cleaning carpets.

The Ventura County Fire Department found their bodies and work truck still running inside an apartment's garage on Torino street. Investigators say carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless and tasteless.

The fire department says carbon monoxide detectors available at any hardware store might have prevented the accidental deaths.
