An Oxnard woman is recovering from being stabbed multiple times Tuesday afternoon. The woman was stabbed repeatedly by her husband at a home in El Rio, an unincorporated area of Oxnard.

According to Captain Ross Bonfiglio of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department, deputies arrived on scene shortly after 12:30 to find the injured woman at a home on the 2600 block of Balbao. She was treated at the scene and taken to St. John's Regional Medical Center, where she is recovering from the non-life threatening wounds.

The woman's husband, Joe Runas was subsequently taken into custody and booked into Ventura County Jail.
