LocalGuadalupe Murder, First In 20 Years
A 24 year old Guadalupe man is dead after being stabbed in a weekend altercation in the small agriculture based town. The fight happened on the corner of Olivara and Guadalupe Streets on Saturday night at around 10:30. Police say the victim, James Michael Christie has not been a Guadalupe resident for long. Because of the agriculture business in the town, there are many that come from other areas for work. However, police are still sifting through evidence and have not narrowed down who is behind the stabbing. And for the town of about 6000, homicide is not a regular occurrence. Anyone with information on the altercation is asked to contact the Guadalupe Police Department or the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Department, who is assisting with the investigation.
